The workshop will be held in collaboration with the Belgian Scientific Institute of Public Health and in conjunction with the XXI meeting of the SoGAT on 28-29 May 2009.

The III International Symposium on The New Prion Biology

The III International Symposium on The New Prion Biology: Basic Science, Diagnosis and Therapy will be held in Venice, Italy, on April 2-4, 2009.

The programme foresees lectures by leading scientists in different aspects of prion diseases, with a focus on the (patho-)physiology of the prion protein. Lectures on neurodegenerative diseases other than TSE are also foreseen, in order to allow a stimulating confrontation of the prion research with the most updated advances and perspectives in closely related fields.

Please note that the deadline for pre-registering and sending the abstract of the poster is postponed to February 15, 2009.

The 8th Biennial Conference of the European Wildlife Disease Association (EWDA)

Through the quality and the content of presentations we strive to make the EWDA Conference the leading event for the dissemination of valuable scientific information as well as an enjoyable one. The EWDA invites members and others interested in conferring wildlife diseases and in promoting wildlife health to attend the conference (more info here).
 
Veterinarians, pathologists, wildlife biologists, epidemiologists, ecologists, and any person interested in the wildlife health should attend and join together in a challenging opportunity to discuss the imminent issues of wildlife diseases. Those of you researching emerging diseases, zoonoses of the wildlife and "living on the edge" of the wildlife, domestic animals and the humans, as well as associates from a variety of animal and human health disciplines should also attend promoting and sharing knowledge among professionals, discussing hot topics.

NeuroPrion Student Workshop (6-10th August 2008)

The third NeuroPrion PhD/MD-student event was held from the 6 to 10 August 2008 in Bratislava, Slovakia. This workshop combined exchange on scientific topics and practical training on presentation skills. 12 students had the chance to participate to this event.

Sixth Annual CJD Foundation Family Conference

CJD 2008 and the Sixth Annual CJD Foundation Family Conference was held July 11-13, 2008 in Washington D.C. The conference was sponsored by the CJD Foundation, the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center, and PrioNet Canada. There were presentations from some of the world's leading researchers, CJD Surveillance Center Directors and directors of patient/family support organizations.
 
The three day conference was attended by families and scientists from all over the world who came together to learn from and about each other. The venue appeared to offer hope to those personally affected and incentive to those looking answers.
