CJD Day Göttingen
A special "information day", dedicated to family members of CJD patients, was held on June 1st, 2007 in Göttingen, Germany. The event was organised by NeuroPrion and Prof. Inga Zerr of the University Hospital of Göttingen together with the National Reference Centre for the Surveillance of TSEs in Germany.
The event was a great success as it brought together more than 50 family members, coming from different regions of the country. Not only did this event allow these people to get the most up to date information but it also created a very unique opportunity for the families to exchange among themselves about their experiences. Barbara Ludwig read passages from her book entitled Zum Weinen ist die Zeit zu schade in which she describes, in a truly moving way, how CJD affected her life.
The invited specialists presented the current prion research situation as well as the perspectives for future treatments. Download the programme here (German)
