CJD 2010 and the Eighth Annual CJD Foundation Family Conference was held July 16-19th in Washington D.C. The conference was planned and sponsored by the U.S. CJD Foundation, the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center and PrioNet Canada.
 

The 4th NeuroPrion Young Researchers training in scientific communication was held from Saturday, September 19, 2009 to Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in NIKITI – ELIA BEACH, Greece, just before the Prion2009 conference in a nearby location.

A risk management workshop on risk perception and risk communication of TSEs in general and on the TSE Roadmap in particular was held in Brussel on 23rd November 2009.

The conference was sponsored by the U.S. CJD Foundation, the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center, and PrioNet Canada. The conference was attended by family members and researchers from around the globe and featured presentations from some of the world's leading researchers, CJD Surveillance Center Directors and directors of patient/family support organizations. The CJD International Support Alliance and their Friends/Advisors held their meeting during the conference.

During Prion2007, the CJD International Support Alliance was invited to give a talk about the different support groups involved in the alliance and to describe some of the challenges that CJD patients and their families are faced with when confronted with these diseases.
